Just published a new page called match play protocols about a new committee decision on other players using a free court while a match is still in progress. Find it under Leagues and Competitions menu.
What a great day to kick off the new season. A better turn out than we’ve had in the last few years and the weather was kind to us as well. I hope everyone enjoyed the tennis, the patter and Jill’s amazing tablet! If that got you in the mood for some social tennis, remember to come along to Club Night every Monday.
Revite has now taken place with a good report on the condition of the surface pile. The concrete around the net posts is rising and breaking up due to the effects of wind and rain on the nets so members are asked to slacken these off each time after playing.
We have now been allocated our tickets for the Wimbledon Championships which commence in 2013 on Monday 24th June and conclude on Sunday 7th July.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with this, every registered club is allocated a number of pairs of tickets for Wimbledon which we then distribute through a ballot. All current Adult and Junior affiliate British Tennis Members (BTM’s) at the time of the running of the ballot are eligible to enter. Any members who are not BTMs affiliated to Busby are not permitted to do so.
Once we can confirm the pairs of tickets available we’ll open the ballot and post information on the website (Website menu/Club Management/Wimbledon Draw) and on noticeboards.
