Fundraising with Rag-Bag

Help us raise funds for free by donating any unwanted clothes, paired shoes or handbags.

Busby Tennis Club is aiming to raise funds towards paying for replacement courts by putting a collection bin in the clubhouse along with a number of collection sacks. We ask club members to take a sack and fill it with any unwanted wearable clothes, paired shoes or handbags. Once the bin is full the sacks will be collected and the club will receive a cheque based on the weight of textiles donated.

What is wonderful about Rag-Bag is that it is absolutely free to the Club and all members and a very quick and simple way to raise funds. Good quality clothing is transported to Africa and other developing nations where your old clothes are re-used and low grade textiles will be recycled into industrial wiping cloths, carpets, underlay and mattress linings.

Information about

The Rag Bag Scheme

The ‘Rag Bag’ recycling scheme has been developed to provide regular fundraising for schools, clubs, nurseries and various organisations UK Wide.

The scheme increases awareness about textile recycling and by increasing recycling rates we can help the environment by ensuring less material goes to landfill.

The scheme is completely FREE, and your school, club or organisation will be paid for every kg recycled. You can raise hundreds of pounds with every collection made!
